about

By launching a sub label Melos and the EP Hit do hita (Hit next to the Hit), the first record of the bend Melosprodukt, Sarajevo – Berlin label Oscilator, which will celebrate its 12th birthday in October 2015, premieres a sounds of Tajna scena (Secret scene). According to the available information, the scene was active at the end of 90's and in the early 2000's, but has never published any of its work. Members of the Melosprodukt (Kwame, Mezonom, Riparaparap a.k.a. Greg Punkov) have, by the sheer coincidence, through a friendship with one of the originators of the scene Parti Misterija (Party Mystery) , come to a possession of a large number of DATs, tapes and discs, which contain many ideas, unfinished tracks, whistled melodies and musical parts performed by different artists who were once part of this mythical scene.

EP begins with and eclectic hippie-dance, disco track, Nemoguća vožnja (The Impossible Drive), on which some of the parts have been performed by the associated member of the bend Južni daft.

The following track, Evergrinrejv (Evergreen Rave) , with its lead synth part, strong, live bass played by Južni daft and the vocal of Blek Melos – who is a member of different bands which were part of the Secret scene – evokes early rave classics but also Yu-disco legacy and sounds, as Melosprodukt's members say, as an „analogue rave.“

A final track of the A side, Melos, begins as a simple funk template, but builds into unique psychedelic club experience through the interplay of repetitive guitars, dynamic synths and the Blek Melos' voice.

B side of the EP starts with a track Dodaj (Add) in which Melosprodukt's vision is accomplished with the help of two other bands of Tajna scena – Sarajevsko vino and Psihodisko FM. After an ironic radio introduction, the track evolves into an uplifting session manner which permeates through the whole A side, and ends with a surprise created by the classical and refreshing sounds of TR-808.

Neću na liniju (Don't want to go to the frontline) is a full-blooded electro track produced through a collaboration with the project Nulti prioritet (Zero Priority) whose founder was Parti Misterija. Melosprodukt brings its own version of this unfinished track, originally composed by the electro act known under different aliases – Deklarisani podrumaši (Declared Basement People), Podrum – majka (Basement-mother), Drumašprajd (Mentbase Pride), etc.

A closing track, Posljednji talas (The Final Wave) is an underground dub track and features two other acts known as Tajna scena (Secret scene) and Toz raje (Coffee cup bottom crew). A track is characterised by clubby introductory notes perfectly accompanied by psychotic screams and shouts, after which brilliant piano part and unavoidable – at least when Melosprodukt is concerned – guitars subtly build simultaneously anxious and liberating atmosphere of the track.
